In this performance lecture, Shabir will explore how music acts as bridges linking Singapore’s diverse communities, while also serving as a soundtrack to the nation’s collective memory. Through personal anecdotes and musical examples, he will show how songs and lyrics reflect the evolving identity of Singapore, connecting people across cultural divides and evoking the shared experiences that shape the Singapore story.
