सार
Main toh ghazal suna ke akela khada raha
Sab apne apne chahne valon mein Kho gaye
Having captivated discerning audiences in Dharamshala, Rehbar now brings the timeless grandeur of Urdu poetry to Singapore with Rumaaniyat. On 15th November, the city will be transformed into a sanctuary of lyricism and eloquence, where poetry and storytelling entwine to create an evening of rare cultural splendour. The setting — the elegant Stephen Riady Auditorium, NTUC Building — with its superb acoustics and refined ambience, offers the perfect canvas for this celebration.
Bade shauq se sun raha tha zamana,
Ham hi so gaye dastaan kehte kehte
The evening commences with Rudaad-e-Ghazal — An artfully curated journey of the Urdu ghazal across centuries — interwoven with rare anecdotes and immortal verses. From the grace of Mir, the brilliance of Ghalib, the romantic cadence of Dagh to the fire of Firaq and the lyrical defiance of Faraz. This will not only transport listeners to another era but also set the perfect stage for the Mushaira that follows.
Phir koi taaza sukhan dil mein jagah karta hai
Jab bhi lagta hai ki likhne ko bacha kuch bhi nahin
Following this the stage lights up with the Mushaira, where renowned poets will recite their verses in the cherished tradition of Urdu poetry. Expect a moving tapestry of ghazals, nazms and couplets, weaving themes of love, longing, philosophy, humour, wit and social reflection — which will resonate with everyone. The Mushaira is not just a recital; it is an interactive experience where the audience becomes part of the magic, responding with applause, encouragement and the timeless “Wah! Wah!”.
Come, surrender to the magic of words, and let Rumaaniyat take you on a soulful journey through the romance of poetry.
