सार

This exhibition reframes Singapore’s “pioneer artist” as an open historical position, held by artists who, in specific moments, redirected the nation’s artistic language, visual experience, and cultural imagination. Working closely with collectors, MOCA Singapore retells this history through plural perspectives, bringing overlooked, muted, or contested narratives back into view.

Through a deliberate dialogue between private holdings and the museum’s collection, the exhibition proposes art history as something made in the present: through looking closely, arguing well, and revising what we thought we knew.
