SWF 2025 Book Launch – First Book Series

Every writer and reader begins with a first book, creating one universe after another.

This November, City Book Room launches the latest instalment of its First Book series, featuring four new titles: Seng Jingfei’s prose collection A Cheese of One’s Own; Phoon Jing Ying’s short story collection Lemon; Chan Keen Mun’s Chasing Tapirs; and Chua Sok Koon’s Metamorphoses & Others.

To celebrate, a launch event will be held on Sunday, 2 November, 11am at the National Library, with all four authors sharing their journeys from creation to publication. Chief editor Wong Koi Tet will moderate the session.

This book launch is part of SWF 2025 and is co-presented with the National Library Board.

General Advisory

• Recommended age 6 and up
• Children aged 7 and below must be accompanied by one participating adult
• No admission for infant in arms
• Admission is subject to showing a valid ticket at the entrance
• All attendees must have a valid ticket to enter the event

Duration

• Approximately 2 hours with no intermission

Late Entry Advisory

• Please be seated 15 minutes before the start time
• Due to the nature of the programme, latecomers may not be admitted.
