This stage play takes the 87-year history of Chung Cheng High School as its narrative axis, boldly touching upon a chapter rarely confronted on stage—the student movement of the 1950s. Student actions that were once misunderstood and labeled within mainstream narratives are re-examined and restored in the play.
Conversations amongst members of a family revolve around the hardships of the school’s founding years, to the struggles during times of war; from the awakening cries and actions of students, to the growth and transformation of generations of Chung Cheng students over the decades.
History leaves its marks, while the lake’s light endures.
For the first time in history, this production will finally be performed in our school’s very own Grand Auditorium which was newly-renovated last year.
More than just an artistic extravaganza, it is a night of reunion of emotions—for alumni, for teachers and students, and for anyone willing to listen to the story of Chung Cheng—promising an unforgettable evening.
