本次讲座邀请获奖作家黄凯德和梁海彬对谈。除了分享创作起点以及所面临的挑战,凯德将会分享城市书房“我的第一本书”出版计划。海彬则会分享他的写作历程,包括塑造他成长的支持和机会。讲座由城市书房“第一本书”的作者潘佩冰主持,欢迎对写作或出版有兴趣的朋友出席 Join us for a candid and inspiring session featuring authors Wong Koi Tet and Neo Hai Bin as they reflect on their writing journeys. Koi Tet will share how he got started, the challenges he faced, and how the My First Book initiative supports first-time authors. Hai Bin will offer his perspective as a writer navigating the literary landscape, including the support and opportunities that have shaped his growth. Moderated by Phek Pin, one of the First Book Series authors, this session promises heartfelt stories, practical insights, and encouragement for anyone thinking of taking the leap into writing - whether you're a budding writer or a curious reader.

Cancellation Policy
The programme can be cancelled or postponed two weeks before the date if the minimum number of participants is not met. Participants will be fully refunded for programmes cancelled by us.
Participants who are unable to attend a programme they have registered for are to inform us of the reason two weeks before the programme date. They will be fully refunded in the event of extenuating and mitigating circumstances (E.g. illness, bereavement, accidents). Those who did not turn up at the programme will not receive a refund.

黄凯德(新加坡,1973年生)是新加坡的知名作家,曾任职于本地华文报社、文学杂志编辑、编写过电视电影剧本,并担任南洋理工大学创意写作兼职讲师多年。自1995年以来,他出版了多部散文、诗集、短篇小说及文化评论集。其中三部作品先后荣获新加坡文学奖,包括小说与创意非虚构两个类别。
Wong Koi Tet (Singapore, 1973) is an esteemed writer in the Singapore Chinese literary scene and has worn many hats in his writing career: a journalist with a local Chinese newspaper, an editor of literary magazine in the 1990s, a drama scriptwriter for the local television channel and a part-time creative writing lecturer at Nanyang Technological University. Since 1995, he has published several books of prose, poetry, short stories, and cultural commentary. Three of his works have been awarded the Singapore Literature Prize, both in the fiction and creative non-fiction categories.
梁海彬是文字/剧场人,著有散文集《房间絮语》、小说集《大海的人》。他的文字创作从社会议题和人性状态出发;再以不同载体(小说、散文、诗、剧评、剧本)呈现。他于联合早报“文艺城”发表创作,近年在“四方八面”爬格子。
Neo Hai Bin is an actor/writer of scripts, poems, prose, critiques, and short stories, with many of his works usually published in Lianhe Zaobao. His literary practice encompasses extensive research into social issues and the human condition.He has published a collection of prose《房間絮語》and a compilation of short stories《大海的人》

Phuah Phek Pin, through the ‘My First Book’ program by City Book Room, published a wuxia short story collection, Passing Through the Jiang Hu, which was selected for the 2024/25 Zaobao Book Selection.
