Sinopsis
SMU VOIX’s 2024-2025 cycle proudly presents Do You A Cappella 2025: IRIDESCENCE.
A five-time winner of the local A Cappella Championships, VOIX hopes to captivate and inspire our audience with the beauty of the human voice and invites all to join us in witnessing our achievements thus far.
As the name suggests, Iridescence is a phenomenon where colours change depending on the light and angle, and fragments, a reminder that identity, like light, is not fixed. It breaks apart, reflects, and refracts, exposing various aspects of ourselves in various moments. It represents the intricacy and evolution of our identities. It symbolises the complexity and transformation of who we are.
This year’s theme takes the audience through the emotional spectrum of self-discovery, revealing how we often hide behind facades, shed them over time, confront the depths within us, and gradually grow into who we truly are. Through the metaphor of light refracting through a prism, our four acts – Facet, Fragment, Fathom, and Flicker – explore how identity is layered, shifting, and ultimately beautiful in its imperfection.
Through this journey of refracted light and music, we hope to hold a mirror to your iridescence, the parts of yourself you’ve hidden, changed, revealed, or are still learning to accept.
Syarat dan Ketentuan
Tickets
- All tickets sold will not be permitted refunds or exchanges;
- All patrons regardless of age are required to present a valid ticket for admission;
- Infants in arms or children without a ticket will not admitted;
- Please present a softcopy of the ticket upon arrival to be seated.
- Note: Due to the layout of the venue, some circle seats provide a view of the stage through the glass panels of the sound control booth. Tickets for these seats will be sold at $27, and do be assured that the audio experience will be just as spectacular.
Photography / Video Recording Rules
- Camera without flash is allowed during the performance;
- Video Recording and Audio Recording is allowed during the performance.
General
- Mobile phones must be switched to silent mode in the theatre;
- Patrons are required to follow all house rules and regulations set out by the venue.
