A maneater has wreaked havoc on earth since time immemorial, luring men to their deaths. However, a complicated relationship between her and a hunter soon sends them on an emotional downward spiral like a cat and mouse game across time.
Inspired by the Southeast Asian folklore of Penanggalan, Here is a synthesis of research and exploration developed across three phases of artistic development. This showcase marks the final phase and will adopt elements of traditional Southeast Asian Puppetry and martial arts, Silat, in the presentation.
This showcase comprises two parts – a presentation of the story written by Chong Tze Chien and a dialogue session between the creatives and audience after the presentation.
