Set in 1980s Singapore, Lao Jiu: The Musical follows an exceptionally gifted boy — the ninth child and only son in a family of daughters.

A prestigious scholarship lies within reach, yet Lao Jiu’s heart longs for the rich world of traditional Chinese hand puppetry. With his family’s hopes resting on him, Lao Jiu faces an impossible choice: pursue a path of stability and security, or dedicate himself to the life of an artist.

Adapted from the late theatre doyen Kuo Pao Kun’s beloved play, Lao Jiu: The Musical is one of Singapore’s most celebrated original musicals, with multiple sold-out runs and numerous accolades.

Award-winning director Kuo Jian Hong (Partial Eclipse of the Heart, If There’re Seasons…) revisits this landmark production, uniting a dynamic mix of original cast members and fresh new talent. Featuring evocative music and lyrics by Mandopop luminaries Eric Ng and Xiaohan, this heart-warming musical brings together stirring songs, energetic choreography, and a captivating spectrum of puppetry styles.

1. Each ticket admits one (1) person of age 6 years and above only.
2. Tickets purchased are not exchangeable or refundable.

8. The patron voluntarily assumes all risk and danger incidental to the event whether occurring prior to, during or subsequent to the actual event, including any death, personal injury, loss, damage or liability.
9. The promoter reserves the right without refund or compensation to refuse admission to any person whose conduct is disorderly or unbecoming.
10. Singapore law shall govern the sale of all tickets and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.

Adapted from our long-running Practice Children’s Courses, the Little Rascals Workshop is a play-centric arts education workshop conducted by teachers from the Practice Education Project. Suitable for children aged 4–9 years old, the workshop includes singing, storytelling, crafting, exercises and play.

Please note that the Little Rascals Workshop is only available for the 12 & 19 April matinee performances and will be open to ticket holders of those performances only.

4月12日及4月19日下午场演出均设有顽童工作坊，仅提供该场次的持票观众报名参与。
