[AFCC 2026 Public Programme] Make Your Own Monster! A Workshop with The Cabin Company

Join acclaimed Japanese picture book artists The Cabin Company for a fun and imaginative hands-on workshop creating your very own monster character! In this special session, children will explore how you can express your feelings, ideas, and imagination through stories and pictures. Each participant will design and create their very own monster character, using drawing and collage techniques guided by the artists. Through this creative process, children will learn how to turn their thoughts and emotions into stories and images. At the end of the workshop, all the monsters will come together to form a collective picture book, celebrating the unique ideas of every child while showing how different creations can come together to tell a story. This workshop encourages creativity, confidence, and self-expression, while giving children a rare opportunity to create alongside internationally recognised picture book artists!
