NUS Dance Ensemble (NUSDE) presents Sacred Bodies, an exploration of the body as a nexus of sensation, instinct, and discovery. Visceral and instinctive, the performance explores how human bodies break, rebuild, and ultimately glow with the quiet holiness of being alive.
Set within the intimate space of Dance Atelier 2, the audience is invited to experience this immersive contemporary dance work up close.
Late Seating Policy
Latecomers cannot be admitted until an appropriate break in the show. For shows without an intermission, latecomers may risk being denied entry if there is no appropriate break in the show.
Admission of Children
All children require a purchased ticket for entry. As a courtesy to other audience members, infants in arms and prams, and children below six years of age cannot be admitted for ticketed shows.

NUS Dance Ensemble
Founded in 1992, NUS Dance Ensemble (NUSDE) is a dynamic group primarily consisting of NUS undergraduates and supported by its dedicated alumni. Known for its unique style of Asian Contemporary dance, NUSDE seamlessly incorporates the richness of Asian traditions with western jazz, ballet and contemporary techniques to create performances that are both modern and rooted in cultural heritage. Through its innovative interpretations of ethnic elements, NUSDE has gained widespread recognition for its unconventional repertoire. Beyond performances, NUSDE aspires to be a platform for collaborative work between dance companies and institutions across Southeast Asia, fostering creativity, cultural exchange, and artistic growth.
Sufri Juwahir | Artistic Curation
Sufri is an Independent Dance Artist with a BA(Hons) in Dance from LASALLE College of the Arts. With a diverse repertoire spanning Street Dance, Modern Contemporary and Bharatanatyam, he has left an indelible mark on the dance scene. As a member of street dance group B.A'D and previously a principal dancer of Maya Dance Theatre, he honed his skills before forming the Soul Signature collective.
Sufri's performances have graced stages worldwide, earning him accolades such as the Young Artist Award from the National Arts Council in 2018. His work, including the award-winning piece Decipher, continues to captivate audiences internationally.
