Professional Concert Experience for Youths
Student musicians perform onstage alongside members of the Philharmonic Wind Orchestra in a full-length concert at the Esplanade Concert Hall, led by PWO’s Music Director, whose artistic leadership ensures a high standard of musical excellence.
Intergenerational Musical Collaboration
The combined ensemble represents a meaningful exchange between seasoned professionals and emerging musicians, united through shared performance. The concert aims to inspire sustained engagement with wind band music and deepen public appreciation for the art form.
Philharmonic Wind Orchestra (PWO) presents a special Side-by-Side Concert on 29 March 2026 at the Esplanade Concert Hall, bringing together professional musicians and student performers in a shared musical experience.
As part of PWO’s ongoing commitment to education and outreach, selected student musicians from primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions will take the stage alongside members of PWO in this culminating concert. Leading up to the performance, students undergo a period of guided preparation and mentorship, enabling them to participate meaningfully in a professional-level concert setting.
Under the baton of Music Director Dr Leonard Tan, a conductor respected both locally and internationally, the concert celebrates collaboration across generations, showcasing wind band repertoire performed by a combined ensemble. This initiative reflects PWO’s mission to champion wind band music while nurturing future talent, fostering greater appreciation for the arts, and strengthening Singapore’s wind band culture.
