This special International Women’s Day workshop invites one and all into the rich traditions of West African Djembe and Dance to celebrate female resilience, community, and joy.
Participants can choose to join the Djembe drumming workshop to learn rhythms historically played for women’s initiations and rites of passage, or the Dance workshop to embody these rhythms through movement.
For the full immersive experience, join both to experience how this unique drum and dance culture interlock in a beautiful synergy!
Both workshops are accompanied by live West African drumming to create a powerful and authentic connection between rhythm and movement.
While the workshop theme centres around women rhythms and stories, this is an inclusive space where all are welcome, regardless of gender identity, to drum, dance, and celebrate in solidarity with all our sisters around the world.
