Yì·Dòng – Intent/Motion, a Chinese dance showcase that explores how intention (Yi) gives rise to movement (Dong), and how movement, in turn, deepens meaning.
Through breath, rhythm, and expression, the body becomes a vessel for memory, spirit, and truth.
Late Seating Policy
Latecomers cannot be admitted until an appropriate break in the show. For shows without an intermission, latecomers may risk being denied entry if there is no appropriate break in the show.
Admission of Children
All children require a purchased ticket for entry. As a courtesy to other audience members, infants in arms and prams, and children below six years of age cannot be admitted for ticketed shows.

Jenny Neo | Key Tutor and Choreographer
Jenny Neo is a prominent choreographer and educator who plays a vital role as a key tutor for NUS Chinese Dance. She mentors students through innovative choreography, enhancing appreciation and understanding for traditional and contemporary styles. With professional training from the Beijing Dance Academy and a BA (Hons) in Dance from LASALLE College of the Arts, she brings extensive expertise to her teaching. As the Artistic Director of the Singapore Chinese Dance Theatre, Jenny promotes Chinese dance both locally and internationally. Her impact extends globally, having showcased her works in China, South Korea, Vietnam, and Indonesia while collaborating with renowned dance professionals. Additionally, her role as a dance examiner for the Chinese Folk Dance Graded Examination Centre in Beijing further underscores her dedication to the growth and appreciation of Chinese dance worldwide.
Xiao Jing | Tutor and Choreographer
Xiao Jing is a passionate choreographer and tutor for NUS Chinese Dance. After graduating from the Beijing Dance Academy, she performed with the China Oriental Song and Dance Troupe before moving to Singapore in 2001. Since 2004, she has dedicated herself to teaching and promoting Chinese dance, including training professional dancers at the Singapore Chinese Dance Theatre. Believing in the potential of every individual, Xiao Jing inspires her students through her guidance and artistry, fostering a deeper appreciation for Chinese dance within the community.
